First place

This is for Day 15 of a challenge 30 Days of Writing started by Nicky and Mike of We Work For Cheese in which several other bloggers and I are participating for the month of June. Today’s prompt was: First place

I have never won first place in anything.
I can remember in elementary school- field day... a third, a second, but never the first place ribbon.

But you know what? That's okay... because
it forced me to work harder and as long as I did my best that was okay.

To strive for first place means that you've cared about something. You've tried to win, to compete.
And isn't that the important thing?

  1. That is definitely the important thing. Achieving our best is a first place as far as I'm concerned.

  2. First place doesn't always have to come with ribbons or trophies. There are many other ways to get first place! :D

  3. Thank you for posting Pink's video. I've always loved the song (doesn't everyone?) but believe it or not I've never seen the vid. Glad I finally did.

  4. I love Pink (the singer, not the colour :-)). Nice choice for today's prompt!

  5. What a good attitude. I wish I shared it though. I'm so fiercely competitive that anything less than first leaves me in a puddle of my own pity. I need to take a page from your positive book!
