I am one of the minority- a redhead, carrot top, ginger, specifically my hair is a strawberry blonde.
Only about 2% of the world's population has some form of red hair. Most redheads have some kind of ancestry from either Ireland or Scotland. ( I have recently found out my roots are Scottish)
Another interesting fact- people with red hair have different sensitivity to pain compared to people with other hair colors & in general redheads require greater amounts of anesthetics.
As I get older I am losing my red- more and more of pure white hairs keep cropping up. My great grandmother went snow white. I'm not ready for that yet. Both of my daughters are redheads as well...
Me-my hair helped from a magic elixir in a bottle thanks to my oldest the hair stylist- she was able to match my original hair color |

beautiful shades of red! (My roots are grey - but only my hairdresser knows this - mum's the word!)
ReplyDeleteUsed to be reddish. Now I'm white-ish. Time marches on.
ReplyDeleteBeing partially color-blind, all look blonde to me but beautiful. Unless it is Bozo clown red, I can't see it. I have roots to Scotland and Ireland. What a very interesting fact. While red hair does run in our family, I got my Prussian grandma's thick brown hair and I have a freakishly high threshold for pain. Most pain killers do nothing for me. I guess Scotland just gave me a penchant for men in kilts and whisky. Have you been to Scotland yet? I puffy heart it! Can't wait to go back.
ReplyDeleteSweet captures of you and your gingers.
ReplyDeleteYou have amazing hair color - you should grow it longer (and come out from behind the camera!)

cool red hair and i think i've read many of the things you've mentioned about red hair.
ReplyDeleteRed is my FAVORITE color hair. I love it so much I dye my own hair red!
ReplyDeleteWhat lovely photos! I always wanted to be a redhead, but alas, I have to pay someone to make it red.
ReplyDeleteHello, Gingah! :)
ReplyDeleteLovely red hair and lovely daughters! My hubby had red hair - got darker with age and now is going grey. Both of our kids have a red tint in their hair if the sun hits it just right.
ReplyDeleteYou have the most beautiful shade of red hair! I'm envious! (You can tell because my green eyes are even greener than usual.)
ReplyDeleteOOH, I love red hair.
ReplyDeleteGORGEOUS GORGEOUS GORGEOUS! I was so red as a child they called me Bozo. I HATED it. Now I love it and wish that my age wasn't changing MY hair color! My daughter is a redhead too... I hope all of our girls appreciate how amazing red hair is. Your girls are beautiful!
ReplyDeleteWhy do you have a camera stuck to your face. I mean, sure, it's convenient if you're a photographer, but it makes it hard to see you. Your face, anyway.
ReplyDeleteJust sayin'
You have beautiful color hair! And we will have the same white hair in the end, I have my Japanese black hair.
